Celeste Wooten
Celeste is a Certified Hospice and Palliative
Nursing Assistant in the Hampton Roads area of
26 years and currently works with Bristol
Hospice in Virginia Beach. She is married to her
husband Eric, and they share a family of three
adult children and two grandsons.
Celeste became a CNA at the urging and
encouragement of her mother, Dr. Priscilla
Johnson but never imagined that she would
dedicate her life to helping those who need end of
life care.
In 2007, Celeste returned to school to receive her
associate degree in occupational science- medical
assistant and in 2014 took the national
certification test for the Certified Hospice and
Palliative Care Nursing Assistant.
Caring for others was instilled at an early age due
to her upbringing and serving alongside of her
family. Caregiving became up close and personal
during a health crisis that almost took her life. It
was then she realized the intimate importance of
the care that she provides as a CNA
Celeste is a 2x Amazon Best Seller, Home Care
Around The Globe and Black Diamond Chronicles.
She is also the owner of Joy-N- the Mourning LLC
which assists families with end-of-life care and
grief coaching. Working in Hospice, she saw a
need to assist families to be prepared from
prognosis to aftercare. She works with families to
provide these services as both an end-of-life
doula and a certified grief coach.

Celeste takes great pride in the work that she does in Hospice. She frequently proclaims to people that Hospice is not a job to her, that is her ministry. She recalls the honor she has been given to "walk home" hundreds of patients.Families who still r e m e m b e r h e r even from many years ago, the one constant thing that is always said to her is thank you for having the time to help our family during the most difficult time. She has always been a strong advocate for such ataboo subject but is always willing to educate and share knowledge about the "gift of hospice" and help families start the conversation.
